Asus ROG Flow Z13 KJP review: A gaming tablet from the Death Stranding universe
The Asus ROG Flow Z13 KJP is a collector’s dream, also a Death Stranding themed gaming tablet. Has beautiful Kojima inspired artwork, gold accents, carbon fiber trim, removable keyboard, kickstand and plenty of ports. The premium unboxing experience is improved with the white carrying case and themed stickers. Beneath the fan service is a powerful gaming computer with desktop-class performance. A must for Death Stranding fans and gamers too.

The ROG Flow Z13 KJP is not just a gaming tablet, it’s a collector’s dream packed with desktop-class performance.

I can't begin to tell you how delighted I was when the Asus rog flow z13 KJP arrived on my desk. Asus has showcased the machine a lot of times before launch so I knew what to anticipate even before opening the package. But knowing what it looks like and having it in your hands are two very different things. As a long-time fan of Hideo Kojima's games and the setting of Death Stranding, this was one of those rare goods I wanted to acquire before even reviewing it. And honestly, after a few of weeks with it, I still think this is one of the best pieces of gaming technology I have ever used.

I just looked at it for a couple minutes before I even turned it on. The white carrying case like something Sam Porter Bridges would take across a broken America. The artwork, the stickers, the hidden elements all around the computer - it all seemed deliberate. The Asus rog flow z13 KJP feels like a product made by folks who really understand why Death Stranding fans agonize over every little detail. The funny thing is, after all that fan service, I nearly forgot that the Asus rog flow z13 KJP is also one of the most powerful gaming tablets ever created.

This machine belongs to the Death Stranding universe

The Asus rog flow z13 KJP is not a lazy special edition product and that’s the best thing I can say about it. Most collabs include a special wallpaper plus a couple of logos and maybe a nice box. Asus went a lot further obviously. From the time I took the tablet out of the package I was impressed by the detail that went into the design. Every surface has Death Stranding vibes - the gold highlights, the carbon fiber trim, the artwork across the chassis. It’s the kind of machine that demands your attention before you even turn it on.

The white carrying case is worth a special remark since it really looks like something Sam Porter Bridges would have with him during one of his deliveries. Asus also throws in themed stickers and bespoke packaging pieces that make the whole experience feel more like receiving a collectors item than a gaming tablet. The best part? The Death Stranding references are never overdone. They’re prominent enough that aficionados will appreciate it, but subtle enough that the tablet still appears premium and intelligent.

When I carried the Asus rog flow z13 KJP, people always noticed it. My colleagues kept wondering what kind of laptop it was, while fellow Kojima fans were immediately attracted to the design. There were times I wanted to put it in a showcase case instead of use it. Thankfully Asus hasn’t forgotten that this is still a gaming machine. The keyboard is removable and uses magnetic pogo pins, the kickstand opens well beyond ninety degrees, and port selection is quite generous for a tablet. You also get a smart SSD access door held in place by a single screw, making upgrades more easier than on other recent laptops. It looks like a collector’s item, but below all that artwork lies a beautifully constructed gaming device, the Asus ROG Flow Z13 KJP.
