Google releases Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 with lots of bug fixes
Google started to roll out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 on supported Pixel smartphones. Beta 4 comes about three weeks after Beta 3, which followed closely by The Android Show: I/O Edition 2026.
Eligible Pixel devices, beginning with the Pixel 6a, are currently receiving the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 upgrade. The release list notably misses the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which also haven’t been updated with the current software.
The Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro firmware versions are being updated to CP31.260522.006.A1, and the remainder of the supported Pixel devices are being bumped to CP31.260522.006.
Google’s published changelog for Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 is a laundry list of bug fixes. Some fixes include a bug that would make the mouse cursor disappear while working with external displays and an issue that would trigger the screenshot shutter sound even when the device was in silent mode.
The update also addresses an issue that caused frame dips and unsteady video while panning while capturing video at 5x zoom and higher. Google will shortly roll out the stable Android 17 update.
